We are able to provide all NICE approved weight loss treatments after a thorough in person consultation with our specialist GPs. Some of the treatments we offer include:

Wegovy® (Semaglutide)

Wegovy is an injectable weight-loss medication for overweight adults or adults with obesity.  Taken once a week, it works by mimicking a hormone that targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite. It can only be prescribed to adults with at least one weight-related condition and a body mass index (BMI) of at least 27 kg/m2 or to people with a BMI of 30.0 kg/m2 or more. It is prescribed as part of a weight management programme that might include diet changes, exercise or surgery.

Saxenda® (Liraglutide)

Saxenda is the brand name for the prescription medication liraglutide. It is used to help people who are overweight or obese lose weight when diet and exercise alone haven’t worked. Saxenda is only prescribed for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above or 27 or above for people with weight-related health problems like sleep apnea or high blood pressure. Saxenda should be used alongside a calorie-controlled diet and exercise.

Xenical® (Orlistat)

Orlistat is a prescription medication that helps you lose weight if you are overweight or obese. It helps you lose weight by reducing the amount of fat your body absorbs when eating. Instead of being absorbed, this fat leaves your body when you go to the toilet. You take Orlistat capsules 3 times a day – 1 with each meal. Orlistat is used as a weight loss treatment if you meet certain conditions. To use orlistat, you must either have a BMI over 28 and a medical condition that can be affected by your weight, like diabetes or be a
BMI of 30 or above.

Ozempic® (Semaglutide)

We do not offer ozempic for weight loss as it is designed as a treatment for diabetes.

Saxenda® is suitable for people with a BMI of over 30 (or 27-30 if you have a risk factor).

Semaglutide and Liraglutide work by suppressing your appetite. This happens because the medication mimics a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is released after eating and boosts insulin release. It makes you feel full, so helps regulate your appetite, and therefore aids weight loss.

Being overweight puts you at a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer. Reaching a healthy weight can lower your risk of experiencing these serious health issues.

If you’re living with asthma or erectile dysfunction, weight loss can improve your symptoms. Some people find that reaching a healthy weight improves self-confidence and mental health. It can also make some activities more enjoyable as the strain on their joints is reduced as well.

Your Doxtor is designed to complement not replace your NHS GP.

Alopecia

Alopecia is more than just hair loss; it’s a journey that can impact self-esteem and well-being. It can manifest as gradual thinning or sudden, widespread hair loss. While it’s often associated with the scalp, it can affect hair on other parts of the body as well.

Agoraphobia

Agoraphobia often earns the title of “fear of open spaces,” but its scope is far wider. It involves an intense fear of situations or places that might be challenging to escape from or where help might not be readily available. These situations can include crowded spaces, public transportation, or even leaving home alone. It’s important to recognize that agoraphobia isn’t just about physical spaces—it’s an emotional and psychological battle.

Acne

Acne isn’t just about occasional zits; it’s a complex skin condition that involves much more than meets the eye. It emerges when hair follicles, those tiny openings in your skin that house hair and oil glands, become clogged with a mix of oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. The result? Pimples, blackheads, whiteheads—these unwelcome guests can appear anywhere on your body, with the face, chest, and back being the most common battlegrounds.
